MYETTI ALLAH THREAT TO 2023 POLLS...ZAPA

...warned them to leave Gov Ortom alone

The Zone A People's Assembly, ZAPA, has warned the Fulani socio-cultural association, Myetti Allah Kautal Hore, to refrain from abusive language and subterranean moves capable of threatening the 2023 general elections.

The group said the threat issued by the Myetti Allah Kautal Hore president, Alhaji Bello Abdullahi Bodejo, that the Fulani nation would not support any southern presidential candidate opposed to restoration of grazing reserves for cattle is a threat to the peace and unity of Nigeria ahead of 2023 polls.

The group also condemned Myetti Allah's constant attacks on Governor Samuel Ortom for his resolve not to give out Benue land to the invading Fulani herdsmen and exposing the antics of the terrorists in the country.

They described Myetti Allah's description of the Governor as 'lord of Benue' as derogatory and an insult to the people of the state and warned the Fulani socio-political group to desist from such attacks on Ortom forthwith.

They maintained that Governor Ortom has been dutifully committed to securing the state from external aggressors like Myetti Allah Kautal Hore and their ilk who had vowed not to allow Benue be at peace.

Alhaji Bodejo had said in a press interview that the North, nay Fulani, has the prerogative to determine who becomes president of Nigeria warning that except the southern politicians apologize and restore the grazing routes, they should forget 2023.

ZAPA in a statement signed by Fannen Mondo and Hon. JT Ornguga, KSJi, president and secretary respectively, cautioned the Fulani leader to know that the country is governed by law stressing that “everyone, every section of the country needs each other”.

The Benue socio - political group maintained that the anti open grazing law in Benue State is irrevocable “because its implementation is restoring harmony and peaceful coexistence in the state".

They insisted that "the call by Governor Ortom that Myetti Allah Kautal Hore is declared a terrorist organization because of their atrocities, killings and destructions especially in Benue State where they have murdered and rendered no fewer than three million citizens homeless is in order and the people of Benue State support the governor," they stated.

According to the leadership of ZAPA, “The law is neither discriminatory nor against anybody’s interest. It is to protect the interest of all, whether indigenes or non - indigenes, in Benue State. Might is not right but it is the rule law that guarantees the right of all citizens”.

They maintained that there is no hindrance to people willing to do legitimate business in Benue State insisting that the law must be obeyed to guarantee a peaceful and safer society.
