Ortom Mourns Father-in-law, Commiserate With Family

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has commiserated with the family of his father-in-law, Dr Ben Ikwue over his demise. Dr Ikwue died at the age of 60 years. 

Governor Ortom's first son, Barrister Terdoo Ortom is married to the daughter of the deceased and the marriage has been blessed with children. 

The Governor during a condolence visit to the family of the late Ben Ikwue in Upu-Otukpo Monday, 7th February, 2022,, described the incidence as unfortunate, saying however that it is an inevitable end for all mortals. 

While praying for the peaceful repose of the soul of the deceased, Governor Ortom said his family and that of the deceased were pained by the irreparable loss. 

The Governor said he was however consoled that his father-in-law was receiving medical attention for his ill health before he finally gave up the ghost at the Benue State University Teaching Hospital Makurdi. 

The Governor who regretted his inability to be part of the funeral rites due to pressing national engagements said the government will be fully represented at the burial, even as he prayed God to grant the family the fortitude to bear the loss. 

A member of the family, Mr Ejeh Ikwue thanked the Governor for the condolence visit as well as support to the family in its trying moment.
