PDP Governors' Forum Congratulates Gov. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri on His Victory, Commends INEC For Rescuing The Process

…says Democracy won.

The PDP Governors’ Forum congratulates Gov. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri on his re-election as the Governor of Adamawa State.

2. It was a hard fought and hard won victory not just for Gov. Fintiri, but also for Adamawa State, democracy and due process in Nigeria.

3. Indeed, Nigeria has just been rescued from descent into the abyss. We have just has dodged another bullet.

4. We commend INEC for redeeming itself and hopes that this is a harbinger of things to come. It is in this regard that the Commission is requested to promptly re-visit all other elections where infractions have been identified. Where the matters have been taken to the Tribunal, INEC should assume a garb and toga of neutrality and inform the Tribunals of the actual events that transpired in the elections.

It has been shown by today’s development that INEC can reverse itself where mistakes have been made.

5. We call on Gov. Fintiri to continue to justify this huge mandate and trust of the people of Adamawa State.

Delta awards N78bn contract for flyovers in Warri, Effurun

Delta State Government has approved the award of contracts worth N78 billion to Julius Berger Nigeria Limited for the construction of three flyover bridges and road expansion in the Warri/Effurun megalopolis. This was part of decisions reached at the State Executive Council meeting presided over by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Tuesday in Asaba.  Briefing journalists at the end of the Exco meeting, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works, Engr Fred Edafiogho, said approval of the contracts were aimed at solving the gridlock often experienced in the twin cities. He said the contracts included the design and construction of flyover bridge at Enerhen junction to Marine Gate; study, design and construction of road expansion and improvement works on the section of the DSC/NPA Expressway from Effurun roundabout to DSC roundabout including construction of a 3/4 Cloverleaf interchange at the existing Effurun Flyover Bridge as well as two pedestrian bridges.
