Insecurity: Governor Dauda Lawal Visits IG Of Police, NDCDC Boss

In his effort to restore lasting peace in Zamfara State, Governor Dauda Lawal, on Friday, had separate meetings with the Inspector General of Police and the Commandant General of the

Nigeria Security, and Civil Defence Corps.

The visit to the Security Chiefs was in connection to the security situation of Zamfara State. 

The Spokesperson to the Governor, Sulaiman Bala Idris, said that the Governor started with the headquarters of the NSCDC, where he sought more collaboration in the fight against banditry. 

He noted that at the Corps Headquarters, Governor Lawal was received by the Commandant General, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR.

He said: "Governor Lawal applauded the NSCDC for the enormous contribution they have been providing in securing lives and properties in Zamfara State."

"He expressed satisfaction with the role of the NSCDC and the discipline of its officers in the State."

"The Governor commended the Commandant General for providing quality leadership and also sought synergy between the Corps and the State Government."

Responding, the Commandant General described Governor Lawal as an August visitor, adding that the NSCDC would continue to maintain a cordial working relationship with the State Government. 

Meanwhile, Governor Dauda Lawal was also at the Force headquarters where he had a closed-door meeting with the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun. 

The Governor discussed with the Inspector General of Police extensively the security of Zamfara State.
