Opu-Nembe crisis: Gov. Diri leads Security Council Members to Community on assessment

His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, Governor of Bayelsa State this morning led members of the State Security Council to undertake an on the spot assessment of the community.

The Governor met with a few people on ground in Opu-Nembe and assured them of restoration of peace soon.

The Governor accompanied by the Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo,  former Deputy Governor, Rtd. Rear Admiral Gboribiogha John Jonah, HRM King Bubaraye Dakolo, Prof. Benjamin Okoba, INC President, the Commissioner of Police, CP Alausa, other service commanders met with the leader of the Police SWAT team and urged them to be professional in their operations.

Most of the streets in the community are still deserted but Governor Diri has assured that the State Government would work hard to ensure all residents live together in peace.
