GOV. MATAWALLE SECURES N1b TETFUND INTERVENTION

 Zamfara State Governor, has finally  secured the approval of N1 billion intervention fund from the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) for improvement of education system in the State.

This was made possible when the Governor personally led a delegation to the TETFund office and met with the Executive Secretary, Prof. Suleiman Elias Bogoro in Abuja.

Gov. Matawalle, had during the visit expressed his unflinching desire in reorganizing and restructuring the education sector of the State for the attainment of world best practices especially in teaching and learning.

 Matawalle who took time to praise the leadership of TETFund under Prof. Bogoro and how the fund has been impacting on the improvement of the standards of tertiary institutions in the country, noted that with more support from the fund to the State, the State owned institutions of higher learning will most certainly meet all the necessary standards.

He noted that TETfund provides useful intervention for the progress and development of the Nigerian institutions,  which is why Zamfara will not want to be left out.

Governor Matawalle said, "I am asking for TETfund support to uplift the standard of education through the creation of a conducive learning environment and the provision of befitting structures".

In his response, the Executive Secretary of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund, Professor Suleiman Elias Bogoro commended the Governor for the timely visit and assured that his office will provide all the necessary support for the Matawalle-led administration to succeed educationally.

He also formally announced the approval for the release of One billion Naira under the Higher Impact Intervention to the Abdu Gusau Polytechnic, T/Mafara .

He added that the State University was also enlisted into the TETfund beneficiaries intervention funds.

The Governor was accompanied by the new Vice Chancellor of Usman Danfodio University Sokoto - Professor Suleiman Lawal Bilbis, Permanent Secretary Office of the Governor - Alhaji Kabiru Balarabe, Principal Private Secretary - Alhaji Abubakar Jaafar Maradun, Abuja Liaison Officer - Lawal Muktar Dan- Sarki and Director General Protocol - Alhaji Kabiru Yusuf.
