PEER REVIEW TOUR OF LEGACY PROJECTS IN SOKOTO STATE PART 2: Sokoto State University Teaching Hospital, Kasarawa

Sokoto State University Teaching Hospital, Kasarawa is a 1200-bed state-of-the-art Teaching and Specialist Hospital built to deliver high level and high quality services.
The project was started on September 18, 2020, with the foundation laid by Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike.
Initially programmed to be built on a land area of approximately 42 hectares, it has now been expanded to 100 hectares due to more additional structures that the project has attracted.
Interesting features of the hospital include: College of Medicine expected to kick-off during the 2022/2023 Academic Year; Helipad foe Medical Emergencies; Admin Blocks, Auditorium, Resident Doctors’ Quarters, Hospital/Staff Quarters, Visiting Doctors’ Quarters, NYSC Lode, 6 blocks of 9-Bed General Wards, Special Wards christened VVIP, VIP and Amenity Wards, Radiology Dept – a replica of the Diagnostic Centre but bigger and more equipped, a 64 Slides-CT Scan, Trauma Ward, Dialysis Centre, Labour Room/Theatre, internal roads, Estate Management Dept amongst others.
The project when completed within its 30-month time frame will cost N15billion.
