Governor Bala Visits Dass

 •Donates ₦200 Million to Windstorm Victims

Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, has visited Dass Local Government Area Sunday where he commiserated with victims of the recent windstorm that caused significant damage to homes and properties.

Speaking during the visit, Governor Mohammed announced a ₦200 million relief package for affected households, saying ₦100 million will be disbursed directly to the victims, while another ₦100 million will go towards the purchase and distribution of building materials to aid reconstruction efforts.

Mohammed, however, directed the establishment of shelter belts in the affected areas to serve as long-term protection against future windstorms.


Responding, the Emir of Dass, Alhaji Usman Bilyaminu Othman, along with the Chairman of Dass LGA, Mohammed Jibo, commending Governor Mohammed for his prompt response and generous donation.

Delta awards N78bn contract for flyovers in Warri, Effurun

Delta State Government has approved the award of contracts worth N78 billion to Julius Berger Nigeria Limited for the construction of three flyover bridges and road expansion in the Warri/Effurun megalopolis. This was part of decisions reached at the State Executive Council meeting presided over by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Tuesday in Asaba.  Briefing journalists at the end of the Exco meeting, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works, Engr Fred Edafiogho, said approval of the contracts were aimed at solving the gridlock often experienced in the twin cities. He said the contracts included the design and construction of flyover bridge at Enerhen junction to Marine Gate; study, design and construction of road expansion and improvement works on the section of the DSC/NPA Expressway from Effurun roundabout to DSC roundabout including construction of a 3/4 Cloverleaf interchange at the existing Effurun Flyover Bridge as well as two pedestrian bridges.
