Gov. Ugwuanyi and the emerging Primary #Healthcare Centres in Enugu rural areas
Deeply perturbed by the appalling dearth of functional hospitals in the rural areas of Enugu State, for many decades, Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s administration, besides embarking on major upgrade of some dilapidated health facilities in the rural communities, a few months ago commenced construction of modern Type-3 Primary Health Care Centres in seven (7) Local Government Areas of the state, comprising the hospital block, separate residences for doctors and nurses, water borehole and a stand-by generator.
The beneficiary council areas are Ezeagu, Nkanu East, Igbo-Etiti, Igbo-Eze South, Isi-Uzo, Udenu and Uzo-Uwani LGAs, with the ones in Igbo-Etiti and Igbo-South LGAs completed.
The landmark projects which are in line with the sustained rural development agenda of Gov. Ugwuanyi’s administration, are also part of the state government’s concerted efforts to increase its capacity to provide quality, accessible and affordable healthcare services for the safety, health and wellbeing of the rural populace.
