Gov Agbu Kefas Meets Mining Experts from Finland in Jalingo
The Governor of Taraba State, Dr Agbu Kefas has reiterated the commitment of his administration to responsible mining activities without harm to the environment but to better the life of the people.
The Governor stated this on Wednesday at the Exco Chamber Government House Jalingo when he received a delegation of mining partners from Finland who are on a tour of the state's mineral resources.
The Governor recalled that he visited Finland twice and that the visit of the experts to the state was based on the areas of agreement reached which include education, mining and other sustainable economic activities that will further sustain the bilateral relationship between the state and Finland and also shared cultural values.
Dr Agbu Kefas said he is delighted that the engagement with Finland did not just stop at seeing pictures but they were in the state and visited mineral resources sites.
He urged the delegation to go and research and develop a roadmap for exploration.
According to him, all that the government want is efficient, responsible and sustainable economic activities between the state and Finland.
He expressed confidence in the professionalism of the experts and their commitment to service and said that was why he chose Finland.
He said the state is ready to work with the experts to bring development to the people and give them the best without harming the environment.
The Leader of the delegation and the Chief Executive Officer CEO of Mining Finland, Dr Lasse Moilanen told the Governor that they were in the state on an explorative visit to areas with mineral resources which they have done, and expressed hope that they will bring about their expertise to the mining sector in the state.
Dr Lasse added that they will ensure technology in mining and that the state will benefit from its natural endowment.
During the visit, the Governor presented Souvenirs to the august visitors.
