CONGRATULATORY MESSAGE TO H.E. GOV SEYI MAKINDE AS PDP CLINCHES TOTAL VICTORY AT 2024 OYO LG ELECTIONS

The Peoples Democratic Party Governors’ Forum, PDP-GF, under the chairmanship of His Excellency, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed CON, the Governor of Bauchi State on behalf of the member-Governors congratulates His Excellency, Governor Oluseyi Makinde of Oyo State and members of his cabinet, the Exco of the State Chapter of the PDP, Party faithful, supporters and well-wishers of the State too numerous to mention on this historic victory at the Local Government Elections held on Saturday, April 28, 2024, conducted by the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission, OYSIEC, and confirmed free and fair by all and sundry.


2. The Forum is proud of the successes so far recorded by the Makinde-led administration in his five years in office, which have convincingly rubbed off on the results of the LG elections and  signifying the people’s full consent and determination to extend his proven and remarkable transformative agenda as a format to the grassroots level through those elected.


3. The Makinde administration has endorsed full autonomy for LGCs as shown by the siting, execution and implementation of projects in communities thus ensuring grassroots development, improved LG staff welfare, rural road networking, empowerment of farmers/ entrepreneurs through farm tools, equipment backup services and funding intervention,  provision of food storage facilities, etc.


4. We congratulate the elected Chairmen and Councillors and their families on their victories and on this call to service to make better, the lives of their people.


5. The Forum equally prays for divine guidance and protection, wisdom and good health in their lives all through their tenure and beyond.

Governor Mutfwang Receives Nigerian First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu's Generous Donation Of 500 Million Naira To Plateau Crisis Victims

Nigeria's First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has donated N500 million to families affected by violent attacks in Plateau States.  The N500 million will be disbursed under the Renewed Hope Initiative and Social Investment Programme, with One Million Naira allocated to each of the 500 affected families. Announcing the donation at the New Banquet Hall of the Government House, Little Rayfield, the First Lady said that government is concerned about their plight.  Senator Oluremi Tinubu expressed her deep concern for the victims, stating that the news of the deteriorating security situation in Mangu Local Government Area on May 15, 2023, had deeply saddened her.  She acknowledged the devastation and despair faced by the affected communities, with destroyed homes and disrupted sources of livelihood.
