Governor Fintiri To Remodel Yola Market

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has appealed to market traders in Yola to cooperate with the Government as it plans to remodel the recently burnt market next month.

He said he has constituted a committee that will investigate the extent of damage, those affected and report to him to enable Government intervention.


The Governor stated this when he visited the scene of the Yola market disaster to commiserate with the victims and the entire Yola community.

He commiserated with the traders over the incident and urged them to take it as an act of God. 

In their remarks, the Chairman of Gamzaki Traders Association, Ali Kachalla and the leader of the market, Umaru Sarkin Kasuwa, thanked Governor Fintiri for assurances to remodel the market.

Delta awards N78bn contract for flyovers in Warri, Effurun

Delta State Government has approved the award of contracts worth N78 billion to Julius Berger Nigeria Limited for the construction of three flyover bridges and road expansion in the Warri/Effurun megalopolis. This was part of decisions reached at the State Executive Council meeting presided over by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Tuesday in Asaba.  Briefing journalists at the end of the Exco meeting, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works, Engr Fred Edafiogho, said approval of the contracts were aimed at solving the gridlock often experienced in the twin cities.
