Investiture of Dr Agbu Kefas as Grand Patron of the Boys' Brigade, Nigeria Taraba State Council

Dr. Agbu Kefas, the Governor of Taraba State, has been officially installed as the Grand Patron of the Boys' Brigade, Nigeria, Taraba State Council. The investiture ceremony took place on Sunday 6th of April 2025 at the Great Gospel House in Jalingo, Taraba State.

The ceremony was conducted by the National President of the Boys' Brigade, Prof. Samson Duna. During the event, the Governor was decorated with his new title and presented with the colours of the Boys' Brigade as a symbol of honour. Additionally, an award was presented to the Governor in recognition of his selfless contributions to the state and nation.

In his address, Governor Kefas expressed gratitude for the honour and described the investiture as a call to duty. He emphasized the importance of mentorship, discipline, and faith. The Governor also reflected on his own experiences in the Boys' Brigade under the guidance of his late father.

He pledged to prioritize the organization and work toward ensuring its sustainable vision, highlighting the crucial role the Boys' Brigade plays in building confidence and instilling integrity in the youth.

Prof. Samson Duna, the National President of the Boys' Brigade, characterized the organization as one that promotes peace and discipline. 

Earlier in the ceremony, Dr. Agbu Kefas delivered a sermon titled "The Merciful and Over-Ruling God," drawing from the book of Zechariah 3:1-5. He described God as a forgiving Father, a restorer, and a redeemer, encouraging people to turn to Him during difficult times. The Governor also urged leaders in government, the church, and the business sector to focus on their responsibilities and avoid distractions to fulfil their mandates.

Dr. Kefas underscored the need for believers to concentrate on God's authority to receive His mercy and silence every accusation against them.

The event also featured the commencement of the 2025 Boys' Brigade Week, chaired by the Member Representing Takum, Ussa, and Donga Federal Constituencies, Rt. Hon. Mark Useni who described Governor Kefas's life as a representation of the ideals upheld by the Boys' Brigade.

Several dignitaries in attendance made undisclosed monetary donations to support the Boys' Brigade Taraba Council. Senior Boys' Brigade officers from the national headquarters and various northeastern states, including Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, and Yobe, were also present at the ceremony.
