Gov Bala: Putting Service Above Self

Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, speaking through his Aide on New Media, Lawal Muazu, says:
At the time of writing this piece, Governor Bala Mohammed's only crime against the selfish and greedy elites in the state is  "he has resolved to put Bauchi State first before any other consideration". Those who cannot absorb the heat are beginning to go away.

The dirty tradition of dirty Nigerian politics is that selfish politicians always wish to have their ways by having it all to themselves. No serious and committed leader to direct the affairs of state for their selfish interests to the exclusion of the genuine interests of the masses. A true and sincere leader must not allow that to happen even at the risk of defections by these greedy and unpatriotic politicians.

The recent defection by Honourable Yakubu Dogara (Former Speaker of the House of Representatives) is one case of such selfish and unpatriotic move designed to prevent Governor Bala  from discharging his sacred mandate to the good people of Bauchi state.

There is nothing patriotic about Dogara's return to the APC. The flimsy reasons he gave for returning to the APC are not good and reasonable enough to convince any true and sincere heart.

Governor Bala Mohammed has made a positive difference from the clueless and retrogressive past. Even the blind can clearly see and feel the difference witnessed by the massive infrastructural built ups and determination to do more in just one year.

Governor Bala is fulfilling his promise to conduct Local Government elections by fixing a date for that purpose. Financial transaction of public funds are done in an open and transparent manner unlike in the past when billions of money were frittered away without any tangible project to show.

For the first time road contractors are hold to account for abandoned and uncompleted projects. Everything is being done open.

The former Speaker should seek for other reasons for his decision to return to his old party. Those living in glass houses should not throw stones at others. With the current investigations going on in the National Assembly concerning the NDDC financial scandal, one may be right to say the guilty ones are afraid and the only escape route is to return to the old fold in order to cover up for past misdeeds.

Governor Bala cannot be derailed, his mission to deliver is uncompromising and so is his resolve.
