Gov Agbu Kefas Declares Open 14th Quarterly Conference Of State Directors Of Security North East Sub Region

Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas, this Monday declared open the 14th quarterly conference of State Directors of Security held in Jalingo the State capital.

Declaring the occasion open, Dr. Agbu Kefas, who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Alhaji Aminu Abdullahi Alkali, described the conference as evidence of the commitment of the DSS in tackling security challenges confronting the sub-region.

The Governor urged the State Directors of Security to engage in open and constructive deliberations to come up with initiatives that can ensure the safety of the citizens.

He expressed hope that the outcome of the conference would add value to the security of the state and the zone.

The Chairman of the conference of State Directors of Security and the DSS Director of Bauchi State said they initiated the quarterly conference to brainstorm on security challenges of the sub-region and share experiences as well as adopt pragmatic steps to address them.

According to him, states in the zone shared common security challenges ranging from terrorism and banditry, among others.

He added that the conference will review counter efforts in tackling security challenges in the sub-region.

Heads of various security agencies in the state attended the opening ceremony of the conference and some of them delivered goodwill messages.
