Gov Eno Reiterate Commitment To Inspiring, Supporting A'Ibom Children To Greatness
... as Mayor, London Borough of Southwark assures of fruitful exchange programme
Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has reiterated the commitment of his administration to support and inspire youths especially those in the rural areas to attain their full potentials.
Governor Eno gave the assurance during Sunday service at All Nations Christian Ministry International, Eket Local Government Area, which was attended by representative of the London Borough of Southwark, Councillor Suzanne Abachor.
The Governor maintained that children are carriers of blessings and different potentials that require education and exposure to ensure realization.
He explained that the reason for the planned exchange programme is that, "among those children in the villages, there are children God has placed great destinies in them, and all they need is that encouragement. People who ordinarily would not get to Lagos, let's fly them to Lagos, Abuja and abroad. Let's expose them and let it be in their minds and let them see the world".
"Some of us are products of villages and if we didn't have the exposure, probably we wouldn't be here. When God raises you among a people, He wants you to be a blessing to those people. So basically, we want to inspire and give them hope. And we are partnering with the London Borough of Southwark on this," he said.
It would be recalled that the State government had recently reached an agreement with the London Borough of Southwark to have exchanges on both the educational and cultural levels.
He said that the different promises in the Bible have fulfillment in the fullness of time, adding that the keys to stepping into the fullness of God's Time include obedience and commitment.
Pastor Eno therefore advised Christians to look beyond seeming delays and unfortunate happenings around them, and obediently wait for a turn-around at the fullness of time.
Wife of the Governor, Her Excellency, Pastor (Mrs) Patience Umo Eno, Political Leader of Uyo, Distinguished Senator Effiong Bob, Commissioner for Information, Comrade Ini Ememobong and his Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs counterpart, Hon. Frank Archibong, PDP BOT member, Hon Pat Ifon, Transition Committee Chairman of Eket, Hon Akan Tommy and others worshipped at the service which also featured thanksgiving by a foremost Eket Socio-Cultural Organisation, Afid Iwaad Ekid.
