Show Empathy, Families of Fallen Heroes Need Support, Care & Compassion - Gov. Bala Mohammed Urges Nigerians
Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has called on Nigerians, corporate organizations, non-governmental organizations, public sector and senior civil servants to make big contribution in order support the family of the legionnaires.
Mohammed made the call while launching the 2024 Emblem Appeal Fund where he recounted the contribution of the fallen heroes who served the nation in order to protect and preserve its integrity as well as its survival as a single entity through their sacrifices during the World War, Nigerian Civil war and other military challenges.
Governor Mohammed said it is therefore pertinent that Nigerians show appreciation to the families, saying the emblem reflects on the development of the Nigerian Armed Forces and the political development of the country as whole.
He called on citizens and wealthy individuals to put the legionnaires in their minds and come to their aid by developing interested in their day-to-day activities in whatever form they can.
Bala Mohammed used the medium to call on the Inspector General of the Police and the Nigeria Police Force to also establish similar for the retirees of the Police.
During the session, Mohammed announced the personal donation of One Point Five Million Naira and thus:
-Deputy Governor - 500,000
-Bauchi State Government - 2.5 million
-Speaker, Chief Judge and Grand Khadi- 250,000 each
-Judges and Khadis collectively - 700,000
-Members of BAHA- 50,000 each
- SSG-100,000
-Head of Service and Chief of Staff- 100,000 each
-State PDP chairman - 100,000
-Deputy CoS, Advisers and Permanent Secretaries -20,000 each
-Honorable Commissioners - 40,000 each
LG caretaker committee chairmen -20,000 each
Total: Ten million, Six Hundred and Twenty Thousand Naira.
