Akwa Ibom Will Remain Uncomfortable for Criminals, Enablers - Gov Eno
… inaugurates six high court judges
Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has stated that the State under his leadership will continue to remain uncomfortable for criminals and their enablers.
The Governor stated this at the swearing-in of six new high court judges held at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Uyo.
He noted that his mandate is to serve the people, ensure that the rule of law is respected, and create a society free from all criminal elements so that people may legitimately pursue their businesses in a peaceful, safe, and secure environment.
He expressed hope that having more judges in the judicial system will ensure the speedy trial of criminals and the punishment meted out according to the law of the land.
Governor Eno assured that the Executive will continue to partner with the Judiciary to ensure that peace and security in the State are maintained, adding, “The Judiciary, as often said, is the last hope of the common man, and I have no doubt that you will continue to dispense justice fairly, without fear or favour. We will continue to work in partnership with the Judiciary for the service of our dear State.”
He appreciated the Chief Justice of the Federation, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, and other members of the NJC for their support and recommendations. He also commended the State Chief Judge, Justice Ekaete Obot, for engendering a great spirit of collaboration and cooperation.
