Governor Bala Arrives Rivers for Umuakali-Eberi-Omodu Road Commissioning

The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Governors’ Forum (PDPGF) and Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Mohammed, has arrived in Rivers State to participate in the official commissioning of the 14.126km Umuakali-Eberi-Omodu Road.

Mohammed's visit follows an invitation from the Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, as part of efforts to showcase the Fubara administration's commitment to infrastructure development.

Governor Mohammed was warmly received at the Rivers State Government House, Port Harcourt, by Governor Fubara, accompanied by prominent elders and key stakeholders of the state.

The Umuakali-Eberi-Omodu Road is a strategic link connecting Rivers and Abia states, and is expected to improve connectivity, reduce travel time, and facilitate the movement of goods and services between the two states.

The project is part of Governor Fubara's broader people-centred infrastructure agenda aimed at fostering economic development and improving the living standards of Rivers residents.

Speaking during the reception, Governor Mohammed lauded the leadership and vision of Governor Fubara, describing him as a hard worker dedicated to peace, unity, and development.

While commending the Rivers State Government for its foresight in executing the project, Mohammed emphasized its potential to ease transportation challenges, reduce hardship for road users, and stimulate economic activity in the region.

He noted that the project reflects Fubara's commitment to improving the welfare of his people, adding that the road will boost trade, enhance access to markets, and create economic opportunities for residents of both Rivers and Abia states.

The commissioning of the Umuakali-Eberi-Omodu Road adds to the growing list of infrastructure projects under Governor Fubara’s administration, aimed at transforming Rivers State into an economic hub with modern transport networks and accessible roadways. The event attracted dignitaries, party stakeholders, and community leaders, reflecting the importance of the project to the people of the state.
