Governor Bala Mohammed Assures improved Girls’ Education in Bauchi

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State says his administration remains committed to advancing girls' education in view of importance to societal development. 


He stated this while speaking at the Traditional and Religious Leaders’ Conference on Improving Girls’ Education in the North-East subregion organized by the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment AGILE Project in collaboration with the World Bank, Federal Ministry of Education, and Bauchi State Government.

Bala Mohammed while highlighting the achievements of his administration in girls education, underscored the critical role of traditional and religious leaders in promoting school enrollment, retention, and completion, particularly among girls.

The National Coordinator of AGILE Project, Amina Buba Haruna, praised the support of the State Government towards successful implementation of the project in the state and called for sustainance of the effort.

Speaking, the representative of the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, appreciated the State Government's proactive measures in addressing challenges in girls education noting that the gesture is in line with the Federal Government's education development initiative.

In his remarks, the Sultan of Sokoto stressed the need for collective action by traditional rulers, religious figures, and community members to ensure the success of education programmes for girls. 

In their separate remarks, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa'ad Abubakar and the state Commissioner Ministry of Education, Dr. Jamila Dahiru, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary at the ministry, Ali BaBayo, emphasized the need for a collective efforts towards consolidation on the success.
