Bauchi State To Benefit From State2State Project Funded By USAID
Bauchi State has been selected to benefit from a project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) tagged "State Accountability, Transparency and Effectiveness (State2State).
The Chief of Party of the State2State Project, Mr Tressan Sullivan disclosed this when he led officials of the Bauchi Head office of the project on an advocacy visit Governor Bala Mohammed at the Government House, Bauchi.
Mr Tressan Sullivan who told the Governor that the project is to be implemented in six states of Bauchi, Adamawa, Akwa Ibom, Sokoto, Gombe and Ebonyi, said Bauchi will be the head office of the project.
"Your Excellency, Bauchi State is our Head office and we are here to brief you on the importance of the project which if implemented, will be for the benefit of the people and Government of Bauchi state."
The Chief of Party of the State2State Project appealed to Governor Bala Mohammed to support the Bauchi head for effective implementation of the project in the state.
On his part, Governor Bala Mohammed described the project as a welcome development for the state and pledged to work towards ensuring it full implementation.
The governor said implementation committee would be constituted to work on the project to ensure it success in the implementing Ministries, Departments and Agencies.
"I am very excited with your visit because we respect International interventions especially from USAID. We discussed extensively on this very important project they brought to us which will enhance efficiency in the area of good governance."
"I welcome this initiative and we are ready to partner with you to ensure this particular component of USAID is implemented in Bauchi state."
