Tambuwal: Skirmish At Sani Dingyadi School Not An Abduction Operation

Gov. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto state has appealed to people of the state capital, particularly those residing around Bado quarters and along Sokoto-Birnin Kebbi road, not to panic as a result of an a minor skirmish reported at Sani Dingyadi Secondary School.



According to the governor, who promptly visited the scene Sunday evening along with his Deputy, Hon. Manir Muhammad Dan'Iya and some Commissioners, upon receiving the information of what was going on, the incident involved a motorbike thief who was chased by some people and ran into the school. 


In the ensuing melee, there was an unexpected entrance of the pursuers into the school premises which scared the students, some of who called their parents thinking it was a case of kidnapping. 


Gov. Tambuwal, also indicated that the state Commissioner of Police and other security agencies in the state, who he equally called on when the scare broke, are on top of the situation. He called on the people of the area not to panic and go about their lawful businesses without apprehension.


He addressed the students and assured them of his Government's determination to ensure their safety at all times.
