Adamawa State Government moves to ensure the completion of Pella/Maiha Road

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri Wednesday 18th August 2021 presided over the State Executive Council meeting, at Council Chamber in Government House, and approved over N56 Million as consultancy fee for supervision of about 40km Pella/Maiha Road.

Likewise, the Executive Council has also ratified the Contract award for rehabilitation 33KV Line and Township distribution Transformers in Madagali and Michika Local Government Areas.


Speaking after the meeting, the Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Dr. Umar Garba said that the Council decided to engage Mssrs A4 Associates Limited to monitor and ensure timely delivery of the project with quality and standard to promote access Road to Rural Areas in the State.

Dr. Umar regretted revealing that the Road Project was awarded in 2007 and abandoned by previous Administrations, but reassured that it will soon be completed by this Administration.

He also said that the electrification awarded in 2020 will cover Madagali, Shuwa, Michika, Wuto, and Bazza at the cost of N283 Million.


Dr. Umar further said emergency measures were taken by the Government to ensure that those towns hit by insurgents' activities following the destruction of electricity cables in the areas are back to normal so that people returning live comfortable and better lives.


On the other hand, the Commissioner of Works and Energy Development, Hon. Adamu Atiku said the abandoned Pella/Maiha Road was initially awarded in 2007 at the cost of about N3 Billion but was reviewed to N9 Billion, and stressed that engaging services of Consultants were necessary for the timely completion of the work which is ongoing, revealed that the contractor has achieved about 40% completion following the engagement of the Consultants.
