Okowa Celebrates Life And Times Of Late Father

Delta State Governor Ifeanyi A. Okowa  on Saturday organised a thanksgiving service and Public reception in honour of his late father Pa Arthur Okorie Okowa who died at the ripe age of 88 years.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri joined Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, other Governor's and notable Nigerians in the celebration of the legacy of selfless service the late Okowa patriach led.

At the thanksgiving service held at Owo-Alero Anglican Church in Ika North Local Government of Delta State, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo commended the legacy of good works left by the deceased, describing him  as a man of courage, honesty and integrity. 

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa while appreciating his guests for identifying with the family at their trying moment, explained that though their late father died in January and was buried in February, the usual social outing could not take place due to the ravaging coronavirus pandemic.


The Vice President noted that late Pa Okowa left a good heritage that has helped his Children to be what they are today. 

He appreciated the gathering for the Labour of love shown.

Sir chief Arthur Okorie Okowa who died at the age of 88 was a retired educationist, politician and community leader. 


Beside holding many chieftaincy titles, Pa Okowa was a Knight of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion.
