Ikpeazu Meets With Local Government Chairmen And Councilors

...Assures on One Ward, One Project Initiatives

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has announced plans to commence the execution of one project in every political WARD of the state as part his "one ward, one project initiative".

Governor Ikpeazu dropped the cheering news in a meeting he had with the Executive Chairmen of the 17 LGAs of the State and Councillors at the Michael Okpara Auditorium Umuahia.

He directed Councillors of each ward to articulate and submit through their respective Leaders of Council, one project that is dear to the hearts of the people of his ward. The Council Leaders are to liaise with the Executive Chairmen to reach his office with the list  not later than two weeks for immediate action. He charged the Chairmen to work in synergy with their Deputies and Councillors for greater development in their areas.

The Governor further enjoined them to take the issue of security seriously by holding monthly security meetings that will involve traditional Rulers ,Heads of Security Agencies in their domains and selected stakeholders.


He also implored them sensitise and mobilize them to participate actively in the ongoing contineous voters registration exercise. 

 The SSG, Barrister Chris Ezem, the Chief of Staff to the Governor Professor ACB Agbazuere, the State Chairman of PDP, Rt Hon Asiforo Okere among other government functionaries were present during the meeting.

The meeting, held at the Plateau State Government House, Little Rayfield, Jos was attended by the principal organs of the party: l NWC, PDP-GF, BOT, NASS Forum, Former Governors Forum, Former Ministers' Forum and other leaders of the party.
