Tambuwal, Saraki Donate N10m To SLS Colloquium

… Tambuwal Describes Him As A Harmless Reformer

The first annual Muhammad Sanusi II Colloquium 2021 raked in N10 million from the duo of Gov. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal and former Senate President, Bukola Saraki today in Kaduna.

Both of them made a donation of N5 million respectively, as announced by the representative of Sen. Saraki, Hon. Ali Ahmed, to the concourse organized to celebrate the 60th birthday of the Khalifa (Regent) of the Tijjaniyyah sect in Nigeria.

Dubbed ‘Muhammad Sanusi II: An Icon of Reforms’, the gathering, with an impressive roll call of politicians, monarchs, technocrats, the Ulama and accomplished women, acknowledged the multifarious progressive roles of the ex-Emir of Kano as an academic, intellectual, professional and leader- banker and traditional ruler.

In a goodwill message, Gov. Tambuwal  noted that: “sixty years down the line, His Highness, Khalifa Sanusi II has traversed so many spheres of life and has carried out very challenging responsibilities; and, has done, in all the responsibilities, exceedingly well. He deserves to be celebrated. We thank Allah (SWT) for his life and we pray that He would continue to guide you in the service of humanity.

“You have seen it all. From Sanusi, the prince, the banker, the academic to the activist. I thought that was what was missing in many things that were being said here. His Highness has been an activist even where activism will not be tolerated. That is him personally. You can’t take it away from him. Is it intellectual activism? Is it activism in banking reform? Is it activism in the traditional institution or even in personal life?

“Here is a very courageous man. Even at a very high cost, he says his mind; and, says it as he perceives and understands it without meaning any harm,” he emphasized as he wished him well and prayed for his success in all future endeavors.
