Gov Eno Assents to Independent Electoral Commission Amendment Bill

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has assented to the Independent Electoral Commission Law Cap 69 Bill recently passed by the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, into law.

With the amendment, the Independent Electoral Commission Law will update the electoral laws in the State.

It will enhance efficiency in the electoral process at the grassroots level, provides legal backing and aligns the activities of AKISIEC in the conduct of Local Government elections. 

Also, the law will help instill more confidence in the electoral process in the State.

AKISIEC is also, expected to come up with a programmes of action that will culminate in the conduct of Local Government elections in the state.
