Governor Fintiri Directs All Commissioners To Go Back To Their LGAs To Meet Stakeholders & Sensitize Citizens On The Outbreak Of Measles
The Governor of Adamawa State, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has instructed all Commissioners to return to their respective Local Government Areas and meet with health stakeholders to raise awareness about the ongoing measles outbreak in the state.
The Commissioner in charge of Rehabilitation, Reintegration and Reconstruction (RRR) and Humanitarian Services, Barr. Bello Hamman Diram, disclosed this during a stakeholders' meeting in Yola South LGA.
He explained that they have already contacted relevant stakeholders such as the Primary Health Care Agency.
Barr. Hamman Diram revealed that the outbreak has affected four wards in Yola South LGA, including Bole-Yolde-Pate, Adarawo, Toungo, and Ngurore wards, with 31 reported cases, 10 confirmed, 9 negative, and 12 pending cases.
He emphasized the importance of sensitization in curbing the outbreak.
