Gov Fintiri Flags Off Construction of Jimeta Shopping Complex
Adamawa State governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has called on traders and the entire commercial community in the state to work with the Ministry of Commerce to take ownership of the Jimeta modern shopping complex instead of waiting in vain for when the project will fail.
The Governor stated this during the official flagoff ceremony of the construction of Jimeta ultra modern shopping complex which took place at the site of the project.
"It is set to become a key part of the economic landscape of Adamawa State, bringing together both modern retail spaces and state-of-the-art facility."
According to Governor Fintiri, and the project is part of his administration's broader vision to modernize the urban and rural landscape of the state, promote sustainable growth, and provide the people with the opportunities they deserve.
He stressed that this is a clear manifestation of the administration's commitment to economic diversification aimed at harnessing the potential of commerce, tourism, and technology to create a resilient economy that works for everyone.
Further more, the Governor explained that the project which was awarded at N19,700,382,063.53 (Nineteen Billion, Seven Hundred Million, Three Hundred and Eighty-two Thousand, Sixty-Three Naira, Fifty-six kobo) only with a completion period of 18 months, was awarded to Lubell Nigeria Limited, Madugu Commercial and Construction Company; and AMIJAPP Nigeria Limited.
In his address, the Commissioner for Commerce, Trade and Industry, ishaya John Dabari, said when the project is completed it will bring development to the state, boost economic growth, empower and create job opportunities to the people.
He, therefore, thanked the governor for the opportunity to monitor the project and engineers who are in one way or the other involved in the execution of the project.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Chairman Yola North Local Government, Jibrin Ibrahim said the flag off ceremony is an uncommon transformation of the old shopping complex.
He equally commended the Governor for his vision of human capital development of the state.
