Gov Fubara Honours Former Dep Gov, Tele Ikuru, With Birthday Visit

 Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara on Monday, honoured the former Deputy Governor of the State, Engr Tele Ikuru, with a birthday visit.

The Governor joined the former Deputy Governor, family and friends in the celebration of his 59th Birthday in his country home in Old GRA, Port Harcourt. 


The Governor was joined at the event by top leaders and elders of the State, including Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Tammy Danagogo; former Governor Celestine Omehia; former Senate President Pro-Tempore and President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Senator John Azuta Mbata; Senator Lee Maeba; former Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Dr. Austin Opara; former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus; former Minister of Transport, Dr Abiye Sekibo; some present and former National Assembly members; Chairman, Rivers State House of Assembly Service Commission, Dr Tamunosisi Gogo-Jaja; among other major stakeholders of the State.

Delta awards N78bn contract for flyovers in Warri, Effurun

Delta State Government has approved the award of contracts worth N78 billion to Julius Berger Nigeria Limited for the construction of three flyover bridges and road expansion in the Warri/Effurun megalopolis. This was part of decisions reached at the State Executive Council meeting presided over by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Tuesday in Asaba.  Briefing journalists at the end of the Exco meeting, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works, Engr Fred Edafiogho, said approval of the contracts were aimed at solving the gridlock often experienced in the twin cities. He said the contracts included the design and construction of flyover bridge at Enerhen junction to Marine Gate; study, design and construction of road expansion and improvement works on the section of the DSC/NPA Expressway from Effurun roundabout to DSC roundabout including construction of a 3/4 Cloverleaf interchange at the existing Effurun Flyover Bridge as well as two pedestrian bridges.
