 Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has officially presented the Staff of Office to His Royal Majesty, Barr. Alheri Bulus Nyako, as the first Tol Hoba of the newly created Hoba Chiefdom.

Speaking at the coronation ceremony, Governor Fintiri highlighted the historical significance of the event, clarifying that the Hoba Kingdom existed in pre-colonial Nigeria but was later reduced to a district. He praised the resilience of the Hoba people in their century-long struggle for a graded chiefdom.

The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance, emphasizing that the creation of new emirates and chiefdoms aims to promote unity, strengthen local governance, and enhance security.

He also urged the new monarch to unite all ethnic groups under his rule and harness both education and sports for the development of the region.

In recognition of his contributions to the creation of the Hoba Chiefdom, the new monarch bestowed on Governor Fintiri the prestigious title of MIDALA of Hoba Chiefdom (Defence Minister), further strengthening his bond with the people of Hong.

Delta awards N78bn contract for flyovers in Warri, Effurun

Delta State Government has approved the award of contracts worth N78 billion to Julius Berger Nigeria Limited for the construction of three flyover bridges and road expansion in the Warri/Effurun megalopolis. This was part of decisions reached at the State Executive Council meeting presided over by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Tuesday in Asaba.  Briefing journalists at the end of the Exco meeting, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works, Engr Fred Edafiogho, said approval of the contracts were aimed at solving the gridlock often experienced in the twin cities.
