Governor Eno Mourns Loss of His Deputy’s Daughter, Blessing

It was a night of grief for family members, friends, colleagues, and in-laws of the State Deputy Governor, Senator Akon Eyakenyi, as they converged at Insight Bible Church, Edet Akpan Avenue, Uyo, for a night of tributes and celebration of the life and times of her daughter, Mrs. Blessing Eyakenyi Olumuyiwa Adewumi, who recently passed away.

The State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, who led the state delegation to the event, commiserated with his deputy and her spouse, Elder Etim Eyakenyi, as well as the husband of the deceased and the entire family, describing Blessing’s death as a great loss to both her family and loved ones.

He noted that though her life was short, it was impactful, as she exerted a positive influence on those around her. He urged the bereaved family to take solace in the loving memories of her life, which he said was filled with love and compassion.

The Governor further stated that the deceased was like a daughter to him, and her passing was not only a loss to the Eyakenyi family but also to his own family and the state at large.

He encouraged believers to always be prepared to meet their Creator, emphasizing that no one is too young or too wealthy to leave the earth, as death is the inevitable end of every mortal.

Governor Eno assured the bereaved family that they were not alone in their grief and prayed for God’s mercies upon the state.

The guest preacher, Pastor George Umana, in his message drawn from Acts 19:15, emphasized the importance of having a close relationship with God, stressing that such a connection is key to unlocking the benefits of Christianity.

The night featured tributes from family members and friends, who reminisced about their fond memories of Blessing Olumuyiwa, as well as intercessory prayers for the state and the grieving family.
