Governor Mutfwang Meets Hon. Minister of Arts, Culture, and Creative Economy on the Sidelines of Nigeria–Brazil State Visit
In a strategic move to harness Plateau State’s immense potential in tourism, culture, and the creative economy, His Excellency, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, Executive Governor of Plateau State, held a high-level engagement with the Honourable Minister of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy, Hon. Hannatu Musa Musawa.
The meeting which took place in Brasilia, Brazil on the sidelines of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s State Visit to Brazil, and focused on fostering a robust partnership between the Federal Ministry and Plateau State to drive creative growth, cultural preservation, and economic diversification.
Governor Mutfwang articulated his vision to transform Plateau into a premier destination for cultural tourism and creative enterprise in Nigeria. Key discussion points included the urgent resuscitation of the Plateau State Tourism Master Plan, the revitalization of key heritage sites, and the designation of a Tourism Free Trade Zone.The proposed renewal of the Jos Wildlife Park and the domestication of a Creative Industry Development Plan also featured prominently in the dialogue.
Governor Mutfwang expressed appreciation for the Minister’s commitment and affirmed his administration’s readiness to leverage Plateau’s rich cultural heritage and creative talent to drive tourism, create jobs, and attract investment.
In recognition of Plateau State’s longstanding contributions to Nigeria’s cultural identity, the Honourable Minister commended the governor’s proactive approach and pledged full support.
She committed to mobilizing federal resources and institutional backing to strengthen Plateau’s creative ecosystem and heritage infrastructure. The Minister also revealed plans to sign formal agreements with the State Government in the near future to actualize these shared goals.
It will interest you to note that Plateau State Cultural Troupe has been invited to perform at the prestigious Global Africa Business Initiative (GABI) during the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.
The GABI platform positions Africa at the forefront of global business, culture, and policy discourse. The invitation marks a significant international recognition for Plateau, with its cultural troupe being one of only two selected from across Africa under the competent leadership of Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang.
