Adamawa ALGON Elects New Leadership

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri CON has congratulated the newly elected officials of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) in Adamawa State.

Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri charged them to ensure transparency and accountability in the discharge of their responsibilities.

He also advised them to maintain decorum and uphold the trust placed in them.

The Governor congratulated the new officials after their election, which took place on Monday, shortly after the swearing-in of the newly elected Local Government Chairmen.

The new officials include:

- Suleiman Gangkuba, Chairman of Toungo Council, who emerged as the Chairman of ALGON

- Danbiyu Paul Tumba of Michika Council, who was elected as the Vice Chairman

- Idris Yahaya of Song Council, who became the Secretary of the association

The Governor reiterated that Local Governments in Adamawa have been granted autonomy five years ago, even before the Supreme Court judgment, and urged the new officials to utilize this independence to build on what their predecessors have achieved and serve their communities effectively.

"As new executives of ALGON, you have a great task ahead of you, and I wish you success in your endeavors," Governor Fintiri said.
