Gov Eno Reassures on Inclusivity as Uyo Widow Gets New Home

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno has declared his administration’s resolve to ensuring people of the State benefit from the state's resources, promising that he will achieve the projected 400 homes intended for vulnerable people across the state before 2027 amid other lofty programmes contained in the ARISE Agenda.

The Governor, represented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Frank Archibong, gave the assurance, Tuesday, while handing over a fully furnished ARISE compassionate home and a 500,000 Naira business support grant to a vulnerable widow, Madam Comfort Michael Johnson, from Ikot Ekpeyak Ikono in Uyo Local Government Area. 

The widow, Madam Comfort Johnson, who lost her husband over three decades ago, while pouring praises and blessings on Governor Eno, recounted how her son who was her only hope for a decent shelter died and was buried last year.

In a project overview, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Humanitarian Services, Prince Nsikanabasi Umoekpo, shared a heartwarming story about the beneficiary, painting a picture of how bad her situation was, when they arrived.

Stakeholders, led by the Political Leader and Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah represented by his wife, Dr. Inemesit Uwah, described the Governor as a compassionate leader who has touched the lives of the downtrodden and less privileged members of society, and  commended his developmental strides.
The event featured donations of business support from stakeholders to complement the Governor's magnanimity and showcase the people’s appreciation for the Governor's compassionate disposition.
