Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Muhammad, has underscored the obligation of his administration to improving the lives of women in the state through empowerment initiatives.

He was speaking when he received the Minister of Women Affairs, Barrister Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, at the Government House Bauchi on courtesy visit today.

He emphasized the importance of collaboration with the Federal Government through the Women Affairs Minister to implement programs and policies with a view to promote gender equality and women's empowerment, reitrating his administration's commitment to providing more opportunities for  citizens specifically youths and women for the growth development of Bauchi state.

Governor Bala highlighted various efforts his administration has made to enhance women's status in the society including vocational training, microfinance schemes, education programs among others.
He said the establishment of a gender desk was to address gender-based violence and other gender-related issues, calling for continued collaboration to ensure its success.
Earlier speaking, the Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development Barrister Kennedy-Ohanenye praised Governor Bala for his commitment and passion to women's empowerment and  promoting gender equality, saying the Federal Government will collaborate to ensure the implementation of policies and programs that will beneficial to women.
