Bayelsa Guber Elections: Confusion Wraps Up APC as INEC Obeys Court Order, Disqualifies David Lyon
Less than 60 hours to the Saturday, November 16 Guber Election in Bayelsa State, the main opposition party in the state, the All Progressives Congress (APC), has been engulfed in a dire straits.
The gloom, insiders say is not unconnected with the turn around of events in the last hours of Wednesday.
Sources have it that in the closing hours of the day, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the All Progressives Congress (APC), were both served with an order, disqualifying the APC Governorship candidate, Mr. Lyon David and his Deputy Governorship Candidate, Senator Degi-Eremienyo, from participating in the November 16, 2019 Bayelsa State Gubernatorial election.
Scoops from sources close to the corridors of the decision makers at the APC boardroom have it that the party has already lost its sleep since being hit by the shocking service of the court order, and the subsequent adherence by INEC in disqualifying of the David Lyon ticket.
Recall that Tuesday the Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja had disqualified the APC guber running mate on the grounds of filing false information, and with the INEC Window for replacement and/or substitution having elapsed, the APC is at the moment, busy trying to sow elephant grass on an already-muddy soil, with the hope of locating a hard-to-find nonexistent palliative to a very visible unfertile garden.
Another report at the moment, has it that governors on the platform of the APC have issued a stern warning to the party chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, to immediately convoke an emergency meeting of the party leadership, or on the contrary, resign without delay.
