COMMUNIQUE ISSUED AT THE END OF THE MEETING OF PDP GOVERNORS’ FORUM HELD IN ABUJA ON THURSDAY, 23RD NOVEMBER, 2023.

 The PDP Governors’ Forum held a meeting under the leadership of H.E Governor Bala Mohammed, CON, at the Bauchi State Governor’s Lodge in Abuja on Thursday, 23rd November, 2023.


2. The meeting deliberated on various issues of interest and concern to the Forum, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the country and issued the following Communiqué:


i. The meeting reviewed the recent judgments of the Court of Appeal concerning Governors of various States and noted the mixed outcomes. As a Forum, we once again re-state our overall confidence in the judiciary to do justice.

We believe that the Supreme Court will do justice in the cases where we recorded temporary setbacks like Zamfara and Plateau States. 

ii. The meeting also reviewed the off-season elections in Kogi, Bayelsa, and Imo States. We support the decision of INEC to investigate the allegation of existence of pre-filled result sheets even before elections started in some places to ensure the confidence of the people in the electoral process.

iii. On the national economy, the meeting urgently requested the Federal Government to prioritise the introduction of a new Revenue Allocation Formular that gives more money to States and Local Governments to enable them meet their increased responsibilities.

Education Remains a Top Priority of Our Policy Thrust: Gov. Fubara

The Rivers State Government says it will continue to place education as one of the top most priorities of its policy thrust. Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara stated this during the 34th Convocation Ceremony of the University of Port Harcourt on Saturday 24th February, 2024. Governor Mutfwang Crowns New Ngolong Ngas, HRH Nde Jika Golit

The Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has performed the coronation of the New Ngolong Ngas, Nde Jika Golit. The ceremony is coming nine years after the demise of the late Ngolong Ngas, Nde Joshua Dimlong. Governor Mutfwang, who performed the presentation of staff of office and certificate to the New Ngolong Ngas at the Pankshin Township Stadium, praised the Ngas Nation for a rancor-free selection process of the new Ngolong Ngas. He warned mischief makers against needless court actions that are capable of delaying or frustrating the selection and installation of traditional rulers in the state.
