Governor Fintiri announces N10,000 allowance for corps members as subsidy

Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has added a N10,000 monthly allowance for Corp members deployed to serve in the state beginning from January 2024.

Fintiri disclosed this while presiding over the swearing-in ceremony of Batch 'C' Stream 2 Corps members deployed to Adamawa State at Damare NYSC orientation camp Girei LGA.

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri maintained that the gesture was in response to the current hardship occasioned by the Federal Government policy on fuel subsidy removal.

The Governor further directed an immediate supply of 50 bags of rice, 10 bulls and 10 jerrycans of cooking oil to the corps members to make their orientation camp memorable.

According to Fintiri, his administration considers the NYSC scheme in the state as a strategic partner in the execution of Government policies and programmes, particularly in areas of education, healthcare, agriculture and rural development.
Barrister Wali Yakubu, the State Chairman of the NYSC Governing Board and Commissioner of Youths and Sports, urged the corps members to choose from a variety of skill sets and actively participate in the training sessions to avoid the lengthy queue of job seekers.

In his welcoming remarks, State NYSC Coordinator, Mr. Jingi Denis, stated that more corps members are currently being assigned to the Local Government Areas outside of Yola-Jimeta as a result of the scheme's reassessment of posting regulations in light of the state's peaceful situation.
