Gov. Diri Inspects Yenagoa-Oporoma road

... says government not playing politics with development of the state

Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, today inspected the ongoing construction of the Yenagoa-Oporoma-Ukubie road.

The Governor has expressed his satisfaction at the level of work, stating that the road will be completed on record time.

"Again, I'm very impressed with the level of work that is going on here, and clearly, even the worst of our critics will now realize that we didn't start this project because of politics or because we wanted second tenure.
These are projects that are dear to our heart, to develop the hinterlands of our dear state. I mean, how would you explain a Local Government like Southern Ijaw, whose headquarters is not accessible by road? and this road has been on the drawing board for over Sixty years", Governor Diri stated.
The Governor was accompanied on the inspection by Rt. Hon. Edwin Monday Bubou Obolo, Leader of the state House of Assembly, Prof. Nimibofa Ayawei, newly appointed Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Irorodamie Komonibo, new appointed Deputy Chief of Staff, Government House, Rt. Hon. Talford Ongolo, PDP Caucus Chaiman for Southern Ijaw Local Government Area and other top government officials.
