Bauchi State Economic And Investment Summit Roadshow Hits South East Zone, Draws Strong Interest From Regional Investors
The Bauchi State Government today held the South East edition of its Economic and Investment Summit Roadshow at the prestigious De’Castle Resort, GRA Enugu, as part of ongoing nationwide engagements to attract strategic investors and unlock the vast economic potentials of the state.
Representing His Excellency, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, Executive Governor of Bauchi State, was the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Aminu Hammayo, who led a high-powered delegation of government officials and technical partners to engage the South East business community and showcase Bauchi State’s enormous investment opportunities.
In his keynote address, Hon. Hammayo conveyed Governor Bala Mohammed's unwavering commitment to building an economy driven by private-sector participation, infrastructure development, industrial growth, and agricultural transformation. He emphasized that the ongoing Investment Revolution in Bauchi State is the result of deliberate reforms and visionary leadership that have positioned the state as a top investment destination in Nigeria.
“Bauchi State under Governor Bala Mohammed has become a land of opportunity,” the SSG declared. “We have opened up our state through improved security, ease of doing business, tax incentives, massive infrastructure, and access to land and natural resources. The South East, known for its entrepreneurial drive, is a strategic partner in our economic vision.”
“ The summit with the theme “ Rebuilding A Resilient Economy;Optimizing Investment and Partnerships “ is aimed at bringing together key stakeholders from across the domestic and foreign investment landscape including government officials,industry leaders entrepreneurs and prospective investors to attract and onboard new local and international investments ; showcase investment ready opportunities, promote growth of SMEs and foster strategic collaboration “
The event witnessed a strong turnout of business leaders, industrialists, and investors from across the South East, many of whom expressed deep interest in sectors such as agro-processing, solid minerals, tourism, construction, renewable energy, and ICT.
The Chairman of the occasion , professor Chinedu Nebo , Former Minister for Power , praised the Bauchi State Government for its proactive approach and said , he is particularly impressed by the leadership of Governor Bala Mohammed. “ What we see in Bauchi is political will, infrastructure readiness, and a real commitment to investor support. Our people company are ready to explore opportunities in mechanized farming and processing in Bauchi.”
Similarly, Dr. Ifedi Okwenna , Executive Secretary, South East Business and Investment Summit , commended the Governor’s investment-focused governance in redefining what it means to build an investment-friendly state. “Bauchi is not just talking; they are doing the work. This gives us confidence to partner with them.”
Other investors also cited Bauchi’s young population, abundant arable land, growing market, and investor-friendly policies as key motivators for their interest.
The roadshow also featured a detailed multimedia presentation by Professor Murtala Sagagi, Chairman of the Investment Summit Committee and Hon Salis Gamawa , Hon. Commissioner of Commerce and Industry, highlighting success stories from investments in Bauchi, followed by a robust interactive session, business networking, and one-on-one investment matchmaking discussions between Bauchi State officials and South East investors.
As the roadshow continues to other zones, the Bauchi State Government reiterates its resolve to make the state the commercial and industrial hub of North East Nigeria, driven by trust, partnership, and transformative leadership.
