Gov Fintiri Receives Hoba Delegation, Pledges Support for Inclusive Growth
Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to ensuring security, unity, and development across the state.
Governor Fintiri gave the assurance on Wednesday while receiving a delegation from the Hoba Chiefdom on a thank-you visit at the Government House in Yola.
Addressing the delegation, Governor Fintiri called for the continued support of citizens in building an enduring and united society, where all people can take pride in their shared identity.
“When I assumed office in 2019, the number of out-of-school children in the state was alarming,” he said. “But with deliberate reforms and investment in the education sector, that number has drastically dropped. Today, Adamawa is performing excellently in education, both within the region and nationally.”
The governor also called for the cooperation of traditional rulers and citizens in addressing the challenge of flooding. He assured that the state government will take decisive action to demolish all illegal structures blocking waterways in all 21 local government areas of the state.
In his remarks, the Tol Hoba, His Majesty Alheri Bulus Nyako, expressed gratitude to the governor for restoring hope and development to the Hoba Kingdom. He described Governor Fintiri as a “valuable asset” to the people of Adamawa and pledged continued support for his administration.
Earlier, in a welcome address, the Chairman of the Hoba Elders Forum, Engineer Markus Gundiri, outlined the purpose of their visit.
He said it was to appreciate the governor for his developmental strides in the Hoba Chiefdom, to congratulate him on the conferment of a Doctorate Degree by the University of Port Harcourt, to rejoice with him over the Super Falcons’ victory under the management of an indigene of the state, and to commiserate with him over the recent loss of lives and property due to flooding in parts of the state.
