Police Arrest Child Trafficking Syndicate and Rescue 13 Victims from Adamawa in Anambra

Following an intelligence report regarding missing children and trafficking, the Adamawa state government, under the leadership of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, acted swiftly to trace and investigate the situation. This led to the arrest of a 45-year-old woman, Mrs. Ngozi Abdulwahab, for her involvement in child trafficking, and the rescue of 13 children from Adamawa state in Anambra.

Mrs. Abdulwahab, a resident of Jambutu in the Yola Local Government Area of Adamawa, sold the 13 children to a 65-year-old woman, Mrs. Uche Okoye, who lives in Kabuku Nnewi, Anambra state. Preliminary investigations also revealed that Mrs. Abdulwahab sold her own biological child to Mrs. Okoye.

Upon returning from an official trip, Governor Fintiri visited the children at a specialist hospital in Jimeta, where they are receiving care and being evaluated to ensure their health is intact.

As the investigation continues, the people of Adamawa state are urged to remain vigilant, take proper care of their children, and report any suspicious activities to the nearest security office. The rescued victims range in age from 5 to 9 years old.
