BAUCHI GOVERNOR SIGNS TWO EXECUTIVE BILLS

Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of Bauchi State has signed into law, two Executive bills.
The Bills are, A law to repeal the State Geographic Information System (BAGIS) and other matters connected to its operations 2019 and a law to establish the State Statistical System and Bureau of Statistic Law 2020.
While singing the two new bills held at the Council Chamber, Government House Bauchi, Governor Bala Mohammed reaffirmed the determination of his administration to work within due process and rule of law.
The Governor observed that, repealing of the State Geographic Information System will ensure effective land administration in the State in line with global best practices.
He directed the State Commissioner of Lands and Survey to use the development to assist the State Government to achieve the set objectives as plans are on top gear to come up with robust master plan for major cities.
"We pray Allah to bless the State House of Assembly and the Bauchi State Government for the kind of synergy we established. I must thank the Assembly for the synergy, cooperation and statemanship and call to duty, these Bills that we just signed with your approval are critical, having looked at our geographic system that has not been done within global best practices".
"With my background as a former FCT Minister, i know that land administration is larger than geographic system and I approached the Assembly to make it useful under land administration and the Ministry for enforcement of geographic information system so that we can have one of the best in terms of urban and regional planning".
According to him, without accurate data, the State Government cannot make good plan for its Education, Health, and Rural Development among others.
"Because of the capacity of the people we brought in our cabinet, we know that, the must important thing in any development or developmental planning is statistics, we submitted the bills to the lawmakers for us to establish administrative framework for the collection, storage and usage of our data for developmental purposes".
"We at the executive, we appreciate the synergy with the assembly, we will continue to give you respect while at the same time collaborate and work together on issues geared towards the advancement of our State".
Governor Bala Mohammed who applauded the lawmakers for the speedy passage of the bills assured for continued support and partnership that is beneficial to the citizens of the State".
Presenting the Bills to the Governor, the Speaker of the Assembly, Rt. Honourable Abubakar Y. Suleiman, hoped that the two bills will assist towards the delivery of dividends of democracy to the good people of the State.
"Your Excellency, today we are here to formally present to you the two bills that are passed by the Assembly after our necessary legislative work".
