BAUCHI TASKFORCE ON COVID-19 CONDUCTS ENLIGHTENMENT CAMPAIGN ACROSS THE STATE

The Bauchi State COVID-19 Risk Communication, a sub committee of the State Taskforce on COVID-19 has conducted an enlightenment campaign on preventive measures against infection with the virus across the twenty Local Government Areas of the State.
The exercise was conducted in all the nooks and crannies of the State particularly, palaces, worship centers, markets and other public palaces with the use of Outside Broadcast Van (OBV) to reach out to the targeted audience.
The campaign message centered on "Protect Yourself from All Kinds of Misinformation, Coronovirus is Real,
Stay Home - Stay Safe,
Report any suspected case of Coronovirus, Lassa Fever or any other emerging disease".
The enlightenment campaign was in line with the determination of Governor Bala Mohammed to curb the spread of the virus, not only in the urban areas, but also in the rural areas.
Already, the State Government has demonstrated its commitment to manage and control the spread of the disease through the establishment of isolation centers.
It is our hope that, with the sensitization campaign conducted across the State, the entire citizens will make good use of the knowledge acquired by observing social distancing, use of hand sanitizers and regular hand washing as well as personal hygiene and environmental sanitation so as to compliment the efforts of the government in combating the
virus.
