Distribution of Palliatives: Obio/Akpor LGA Residents Praise Gov. Wike

Residents of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area on Wednesday celebrated as the Rivers State Government extended foodstuffs to them as part of the palliatives to support them at this trying time.
Rivers State COVID-19 Palliative Committee constituted by Governor Nyesom Wike distributed assorted foodstuffs to the 17 Wards of the Local Government Area.
Chairman of the Rivers State COVID-19 Palliative Committee, Ambassador Desmond Akawor, said that Governor Wike is committed to ensuring that Rivers people are comfortable as they fight against the spread of coronavirus.
He said that the committee is working in line with the directive of Governor Wike to reach out to the less privileged in the state. He expressed happiness that the people of the Local Government Area appreciated the intervention of Governor Wike to alleviate their suffering.
The Chairman of the Palliatives Committee said that the foodstuffs were handed over to community leaders and the ward councillor to ensure that they trickle down to the people.
In Ward 9, Rev. Cannon Stanley Iyema Isaac commended Governor Wike for allocating resources for the purchase and distribution of foodstuffs to less privileged Rivers people as part of the measures to check the spread of coronavirus.
He said that the people of Obio/Akpor LGA are happy with the show of love by the Wike Administration.
At Ward 1, Venerable Dr. Chucku Anele said that Governor Wike has proven that he is a father with a large heart to cater for the people.
