Governor Ikpeazu Visit Site of Collapsed Road at Ogbor Hill, Assures of Immediate Action

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has assured that the collapsed portion of the road between East Street and the Ogbor Hill Bridge will be fixed immediately and delivered within the next couple of days.
The Governor gave this assurance when he paid an ON THE SPOT ASSESSMENT visit to the road this morning.

He ordered that all adjoining roads leading to that spot be cordoned off immediately to safeguard and appealed to people to avoid that area for their own safety.
Speaking after the visit, the Governor stated that the job was done in 2012 but unfortunately the first culvert was not reinforced properly, allowing underground water to gain ground and do this damage. He ordered the Commissioner for Works to get an experienced contractor to move in there immediately and get that portion fixed in a matter of days.
Also speaking, the Commissioner for Works, Bob Chiedozie Ogu assured that the instructions of the Governor will be carried out at once and assured that the place will be fixed and opened to road users in less than no time.
