COVID-19: Bala Mohammed Features on AIT/Channels



....Highlights Steps Taken to Tackle Covid-19 In The State 




Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, Kauran Bauch,i has featured both on AIT and Channels Television stations where he highlighted the steps taken by his administration to tackle the spread of coronovirus disease.

In the live television programme, the Governor said that he had already considered deepening community engagement as key to curbing the spread of the virus especially community transmission.

According to him, Bauchi being among the states with the highest number of confirmed COVID-19 cases, the State Government has achieved a lot of successes in the management of its cases.

"We have achieved a lot of successes in terms of managing cases and managing the spread of the pandemic. Bauchi has recorded 225 COVID-19 confirmed cases out of which 127 have been discharged, 93 active cases with zero severe case."

Governor Bala Mohammed said that a mini rapid response committee has been set up to support the main taskforce in the discharge of its assigned responsibilities.

He said that the mini committee comprises coordination, surveillance and contact tracing, case management, point of entry to manage people coming from other states, laboratory services, research and documentation, data and risk communications as well as logistics and supply.

"Yes we are number 5 on the list of the states with the highest number, but we are able to stabilise the situation through management of the cases. I have always said that case management, contact tracing and community engagement are keys to tackling further spread of this deadly disease."

"We are the only state in the country to deepen community engagement in the management of coronovirus disease, and that has assisted in ensuring mutual understanding between my government and the citizens. There is no mistrust between government and people of Bauchi State on this issue of COVID-19 pandemic."

The Governor used the opportunity to express gratitude to all the stakeholders for their outstanding  support and cooperation in all the measures taken by the government to manage the pandemic.
