MATAWALLE EXPRESSES SATISFACTION OVER SYNERGY WITH STATE LEGISLATURE




Governor of Zamfara State, Hon. Bello Muhammad Matawalle, has described the cordial working relationship between his Executive Council and the State Legislature as encouraging and will ease the provision of dividends of democracy to the good people of Zamfara State.

Governor Matawalle made this statement at his country home of Maradun when he received the 24 members of the State Legislature under the able leadership of the Speaker, Zamfara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Nasiru Muazu Magarya.

He said, while it is disheartening to see series of misgivings, quarrels and misunderstandings within the assembly and between the legislature and the executive, the relationship has remained very cordial with mutual respect existing between the two parties in the state.

"I want to specially commend the leadership of the Zamfara State House of Assembly under the enviable pilotship of the Rt. Hon. Speaker, Nasiru Muazu Magarya as well as the whole members of the state legislature for behaving maturely in the first year of our administration and to pray that this partnership continues unhindered, Matawalle said.

The Governor informed members of the House that the choice of the Rt. Hon. Speaker Magarya to lead the state committee in the fight and prevention of the  spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in the state has not been done in error as we have all seen the appreciable performance made by his committee which by Allah's grace helped in decimating coronavirus infection in the state.

According to the Governor, as at the time of the visit, Zamfara State was having only one COVID-19 index case in its isolation centre, pointing out that following the measure taken to curtail the spread of Coronavirus, the state is recording remarkable success, even as the remaining index case is expected to be discharged by the subsequent day.

Earlier, the Speaker, Zamfara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Nasiru Muazu Magarya, said that the House appreciates the performance of Governor Bello Matawalle especially in his effort of ensuring that peace and tranquility reign in the state within the shortest possible time.

Hon. Nasiru Magarya assured the Governor that the House will continue to support the policies and programmes of his administration.

Governor Mutfwang Receives Nigerian First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu's Generous Donation Of 500 Million Naira To Plateau Crisis Victims

Nigeria's First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has donated N500 million to families affected by violent attacks in Plateau States.  The N500 million will be disbursed under the Renewed Hope Initiative and Social Investment Programme, with One Million Naira allocated to each of the 500 affected families.
