Odiari Princewill is Dead, Wike Mourns




The Chairman of Asari Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State, Odiari Princewill, is dead.

Princewill, a strong loyalist of Governor Nyesom Wike, died on Wednesday at about 10pm and was buried on Thursday morning at the Port Harcourt cemetery.

It was claimed that the council boss lost his life to a protracted illness after receiving treatment at an undisclosed facility, even though there are indications that his death is COVID-19 related.

Residents of the council have described Princewill as a true loyalist of Wike and recalled his tireless efforts to develop the council.

At the time of filing this report, the Rivers state government has not released a statement concerning the death of the council boss.

Delta awards N78bn contract for flyovers in Warri, Effurun

Delta State Government has approved the award of contracts worth N78 billion to Julius Berger Nigeria Limited for the construction of three flyover bridges and road expansion in the Warri/Effurun megalopolis. This was part of decisions reached at the State Executive Council meeting presided over by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Tuesday in Asaba.  Briefing journalists at the end of the Exco meeting, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works, Engr Fred Edafiogho, said approval of the contracts were aimed at solving the gridlock often experienced in the twin cities.
